I do not think we are yet to see the end of the series produced from the fuel issues in Nigeria...It will be recalled that NUPENG had embarked on strike over the non- payment of 2012 Petroleum Subsidy arrears, state of the refineries, bad roads as well as restructuring of loans of JEPTFON members and though the strike has been called off, i am very sure more issues are going to spring out sooner than we expect.

The campaign against over reliance on fuel should actually continue and we should begin to look inward with entertainment, agriculture, and other areas of generating income for ourselves and the country..

I want to believe most fans of Snoop will not be happy each time his caught with this item called marijuana, whether for business or personal use...he was recently caught with 8 grams of Marijuana and barred from gaining access into Norway for a period of two years. This happened last month at the Kjevic Airport in Kristiansand and he was fined $2,000 which he paid on the spot. Earlier in January, the rapper was arrested when US border agents searched and found drug substances on his tour bus along a west Texas highway.

Senator David Mark wants the social media to be checked because of the uncontrolled messages flying around about...Describing the media as one of the stabilizing factors in the scheme of things, Mark cautioned that “we need to change our attitude on how we report things about our country, and we should emulate the foreign reporters, who never report negative things about their countries.”

Senator Mark, who spoke in Umuahia, Abia State, while declaring open a two-day retreat for Senate Press corps, explained that the media has come to stay, as part of the process of governance in the country, since the return of democratic government in 1999 and performing its social responsibility of checking the excesses of the leaders.

Nigerians will never post anything negative about you if your hands are clean...and the social media actually helps checkmate the excesses of bad governance

Three and a half years into President Obama's first term as president, half of Americans cannot accurately say what religion he is, according to a poll released this week.
Only 49 percent of respondents said that Obama was Christian while 17 percent inaccurately said he was Muslim. Nearly one-third of respondents said they did not know the president's religion, according to the poll released Thursday by the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion & Public Life.
More people - 60 percent - knew that Romney, who has not held elected office in a decade, was Mormon than knew which religion the sitting president subscribes to.
And while only 9 percent of respondents said Romney was a religion that he is not, more than twice that amount said Obama adheres to a religion other than Christianity. The vast majority of those claiming Obama is not a Christian said he was a Muslim.

"Unfortunately there has been a development of a bizarre echo chamber within right wing of the political spectrum that truth and reality have failed to penetrate," said Ibrahim Hooper, communications director at Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington-based Muslim civil rights and advocacy group. "It's a self-perpetuating, self-reinforcing delusion."
But this seemingly large lack of basic knowledge about the president may have more to do with people's opinion of Obama than how much they know about religious beliefs, said Alan Cooperman, associate director for research at the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life.
"It's entirely possible that what people are telling us isn't exactly what they know but they are expressing an opinion," Cooperman said. "We suspect - it's hard to prove it- that some of the people who tell us that the president is a Muslim are using the question as a way to express their distrust or dislike for the president."

Only 8 percent of Democrats said Obama was Muslim. Because there is such a wide divide between the parties' responses, Cooperman said the results do not "just show whether people are ignorant on the president's religion but more that they have an opinion on his religion."

The stars of "Modern Family" have reached new contracts to keep working on the Emmy-winning comedy, ending a dispute that had threatened to spill over into a courtroom.Five of the actors sued Fox on Tuesday, asking a judge to rule their contracts on the hit show are illegal and should be invalidated. O'Neill joined the case later in the week.

Executive producer Christopher Lloyd said the lawsuit wouldn't have interfered with production but it is "great to have that not hanging over our head." He said there would be no ill will on the set because the situation was resolved quickly and the show has a "charmed setup."

"Modern Family," a popular comedy that airs on ABC, has won Emmy Awards for outstanding Comedy Series the past two years. Several of the stars, including Burrell, Bowen and Stonestreet have won individual Emmys for their work on the show.
The show was recently nominated for 14 Emmy Awards, the most of any sitcom.
The lawsuit, which claimed the actors' contracts were illegal because they bound them to the show for more than seven years, will be dropped. Exact terms of the deal were not released.

Do you know that the Olympics have been held in London before in 1908 and 1948...
This year, the costs of mounting the Games are separate from those for building the venues and infrastructure, and redeveloping the land for the Olympic Park. While the Games are privately funded, the venues and Park costs are met largely by public money.
The original budget for the games was £2.4 billion, but this was increased almost fourfold to about £9.3 billion..The Queen made a seemingly spectacular entrance to the Opening Ceremony as she parachuted from a helicopter into the Olympic Stadium accompanied by James Bond actor Daniel Craig.

Meanwhile, China is leading the medals table with 4 Gold and 2 Bronze, followed by Italy and the United States.

Lets continue to respect our women, young girls and ladies and see them as a support to national growth and not a tool of overcoming our insecurities of dating a woman...and i keep saying, what goes around, comes around..or the law of karma..never failing...a word is enough for the wise and to every person found guilty..the right judgement should be passed...CASTRATION!

It is very easy to scold this Hollywood Shinning Star for what she did but i just wondered if she was a Nigerian....the story might never be heard until a pregnancy occurs or some gossip just emerges..i am not trying to insult the females in naija....
We should actually respect any woman who commits such a thing and later come out to apologize to everyone..and i guess that might include her creator...
I do believe that there are so many Kristen in Nigeria and around the world...Stewart was spotted in the midst of a makeout session with Sanders, who directed her in the movie ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’. The intimate moments were caught on camera and published in the US Weekly magazine.

However, Stewart has shown remorse for her indecent behaviour and has issued a statement apologizing for cheating on Robert Pattinson with Rupert Sanders.
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” she told People

Both officers have been asked to pay N25, 000.00 each as fine.
General Kenneth Minimah, the general officer commanding 81 division, gave the order while addressing the court marital established to discipline 13 army personnel for their misconducts.

He added that the action of the two officers arrested by Mr Fashola was against the Lagos State traffic law and regardless of their apology to the governor, they will still pay the N25,000 fine.
General Minimah said that the fine would serve as a deterrent to others, charging other soldiers to obey the laws of the state, including taking the BRT lane.

This is absolutely weird seeing two prominent wives of our leaders fight over a land

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court Sitting in Bwari Area Council has ordered Hajia Turai
Yar’Adua, wife of late President Yar’Adua and the current First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan to report back to court over the out of court settlement on a disputed 1.84 hectares of land in Abuja.

The disputed land, plot no. 1347 Cadastral Zone AOO, Central Business District, Abuja, FCT, was initially allocated to Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation (WAYEF) while Mrs. Yar’adua was First Lady.
The Minister of the FCT, Bala Mohammed revoked the allocation for what he described as “overriding public interest” and reallocated the same land to Mrs. Jonathan for the building of African First Lady Peace Mission Headquarters on the 2nd of November, 2011.

Mrs. Yar’Adua complained that the land allocated to WAYEF on 19 February 2010 was being trespassed upon by Mrs. Jonathan and got a court order dated 5 March 2012 restraining the defendants from affecting WAYEF title and interest over the land.

The Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Ethics and Values, Mrs. Sarah Jibril, lamented in Akure on Monday that she had been having difficulties in travelling outside Abuja for her official engagements as she no longer has an official vehicle. Jubril said, “No new vehicle was provided for my office since the one given to me on my appointment had an accident sometimes ago.”

The special adviser said she had been using her old Toyota SUV which she said could not withstand long distance journey.
Wife of the Ondo State Governor, Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko, who was the Special Guest on the occasion, made arrangement for a vehicle to take her back to Abuja on Tuesday.

I am totally speechless about this development...

The Lagos State Police Command is presently looking for a truck driver identified simply as Adewale, who vanished with 169 motorcycles given to him to convey to Niger State from Lagos.
It was learnt that the motorcycles, worth over N15m, are owned by Zuki North Marketing.

Why should any man think of having canal knowledge with a woman, i am not promoting prostitution but if your "john thomas" is crying out daily, then, simply patronize a brothel, rather than rape...
The truth is that, what goes around comes rape a girl, then get prepared because your own daughter might just be the next victim..Karma

An Osogbo Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a 56-year-old man, Samuel Olatoke, to 14 years imprisonment for raping a 14-year-old gir..The trial of the convict followed an advocacy by the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, whose Commissioner, Mrs. Adetoun Adegboyega, took up the challenge to prosecute rape cases in the state free of charge.

He should be given life imprisonment and i wonder why most men still do not learn from such examples...please, let us respect the women because without them, there is no child bearing...

The house of representatives on Sunday insisted that President Goodluck Jonathan must achieve 100 per cent budget implementation by September or face impeachment.
Apparently reacting to interventions by the PDP and reported overtures by the President to save his job, the House said it would not change its resolution midway.

Meanwhile the House is divided on this move. The spokesman for PDP said that, he would ensure that the plan by the opposition to unseat the president is not achieved.
It would be recalled that the president has spent over N927bn on contract for just 10 months in his adminstration.

This is what i call a trying time for the sure he can always reach a resolution with his least, he should be allowed to complete his tenure...but am not his spokesperson please

Pastor Tunde Bakare is in the news again but this time, summoned by the State Security Service for a sermon delivered at his Sunday service..Ofcourse, we all know who the finger points at but how long are we going to continue with a democratic setting, perhaps, we are actually reaching our promised land gradually..sit back and relax, like our television people say...

We are glad the matter has been settled and our dear Man of God can continue with his ministry...It is well with Nigeria

An innovator in her sphere Funmi has won tremendous recognition for her work in the media and for her humanitarian and philanthropic interventions. She is an African Leadership Institute Tutu Fellow and a participant of the ASPEN Institute’s Forum for Communications and Society.

In 2012, she was honoured by the Lagos State Governor,Babatunde Raji Fashola, for her commitment to gender advocacy as she returned from a 5 day UN advocacy trek up Mountain Kilimanjaro. The climb was organized by the UN to raise global awareness on its campaign to End Violence against Women and Girls and brought together climbers from more than 32 African countries in a historic advocacy journey up Mount Kilimanjaro. Funmi Iyanda joined South African rock band the Parlotones, South African actress Rosie Motene, human rights lawyer, Ann Njogu, Congolese singer Barbara Kanam, and many African women and men who play an active role in their countries on the gruelling trek up Kilimanjaro. In 2012, Funmi Iyanda and her creative partner Chris Dada released, an innovative web series documenting the January 2012 fuel subsidy protests that took place in Lagos, Nigeria. A web series because it could not be aired on Nigerian TV, the series presents an insider view of the Lagos protests, in which people of all classes took to the streets demanding a reversal of the 117% hike in petrol prices. The protests swiftly evolved to encompass issues beyond petrol prices, with protesters focusing on government profligacy, as well as the endemic corruption in the country. Wildly popular, chopcassava videos went viral, with one of the videos gathering over 100,000 hits in 5 days. was nominated in the non-fiction webseries category at the 2012 BANFF World Media Festival, in Alberta Canada.

This is what Dame Patience Jonathan, First Lady and Permanent Secretary said at the swearing-in ceremony into the Bayelsa State Civil Service...We the wives of political office holders, if our names are not in the constitution and our husbands retire with benefits, the Constitution amendment committee should also look into the issue of wives of political appointees. We should be included in the Constitution so that we too can retire with benefits. With that we can enjoy our career."

What exactly is she up to and who advised her to make such a statement....?

This Elderly man who claims to be 45 years of age was at the Ibadan Audition of Project Fame West Africa, I would have been shocked if he was nodded a yes by the Sola Allison led Jury, despite his good African rendition...Well, its a good opportunity for such people to promote their indigenous songs...He was advised to go back to the drawing board...for real...

Rap Star, Naeto C finally says I DO at the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, off Admiralty way, Lekki phase one, Lagos.
The wedding was attended by notable stars, such as longtime friend/group member Ikechukwu, Storm Records boss Obi Asika and D’banj, along with the bride and groom’s family.

This shows that Nigeria is actually rich enough to provide jobs, social infrastructures, and other good things of life...and so, why is there so much cry from left, right and centre...its time we know what we are doing as a nation....

The Nigerian Woman is a respectable woman who knows what it takes to protect and care for her family...lets start with the struggle to have a child, train that child and wait to carry her grandchildren...This is a typical Nigerian woman for you but when that moment comes when she has to go through the needle eye to keep her home, we should be concerned, neighbors, families, friends and the government should be able to support her in that trying time...

Grace Beji, 47, mother of three children, was found in possession of 1kg of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

The suspect blamed her involvement in drug trafficking on the need to get rich quick. She said, “I agreed to smuggle the drugs because they promised to pay me $3,000. I blame myself because I wanted quick money. To me the money was an additional profit to my trading business. I was given the drug to swallow, but I could not ingest it for fear that it may burst so I hid it in my underwear.

Yes...its a criminal offense but at the other end of the line, can you truly blame her...its time we have strategic programmes for women who are desperate to do anything to get rich...

Yes..she emerged from the Next Movie Star reality Show...Yes..she has featured in quite a number of movies, majorly love issues and Call girl palava but being put up as a nominee on the Prestigious Future Awards..alongside the likes of Lala Akindoju, Ini edo and Kabira Kafidipe, is a NO-NO for me.

I am yet to see the strength of Tonto as an exclusive actress beside the camera show off of take 1,2,3 and many more...and guided by some unprofessional directors who do not work with script..there is a lot of considerations when putting up people for award...

Jason Njoku is the founder and CEO of Iroko Partners, the largest digital distributors of Nigerian music and movies, with a library of ~1600 licensed movies. Mr. Njoku’s, Iroko Partners, consist of 5 web brands; iROKOtv, iROKING, iROKtv, NollywoodLove and YorubaLove. Mr. Njoku is building a modern digital distribution infrastructure using Amazon Web Services, Ooyala and several video ad networks, to service the second largest movie industry in the world (by volume), Nollywood, or Nigerian cinema.

According to Pando Daily’s, Sarah Lacy, last year Iroko did eight million YouTube streams a month, with a $1 million revenue run-rate. But since then, his traffic has soared, but the relationship with Youtube has soured. In Njoku’s view, YouTube has become so maniacal about pleasing Hollywood and doing original, high-level US-centric programming that they just didn’t care about what someone like Iroko was doing.

Earlier this year, Njoku  decided to close his YouTube channel that was generating millions in revenue in an attempt to build something even bigger. He’s in the process of migrating users and content now, so his YouTube content will still be available for a bit longer.
Mr. Njoku holds a BSc, Chemistry from The University of Manchester, University of Manchester - Manchester Business School, 2002 – 2005.

Recently, the Golden Eaglets team were required to verify their true ages through the use of a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan.  However, fifteen of them have failed the test! They were detected during the Grade 1 test ordered by FIFA for all countries intending to participate at any international age-grade tournament.

“If you factor the record and facial looks of the players, you might think that three quarter of the players will pass the test, but the MRI test is going to be a rigorous examination now as FIFA is insisting on a Grade 1 test instead of Grade 5 and it is difficult to know who will scale through that. There is no guarantee that even a player within stipulated age range will scale through,” Garba said on Monday.

What do we call our situation in this great country...Is it a matter of going to the drawing board like we always say...i dont think so, rather, do the right sure you know...

“We are promising fans that for at least the next month, we would debut a new video every Wednesday. The move has been dubbed #EMEWednesdays on twitter, and E.M.E fans worldwide are loving it.” says Banky W, Chairman & Creative Director, EME records.

I just hope they dont come out as trash...should not be a case of too much money to waste around...
Empire Mates Entertainment has bagged a lot of major achievements this year including WizKid’s big win at the 2012 BET Award for Best International Act. On July1, 2012, Banky W scored a major feat as one of the few Nigerians selected to lift the Olympic torch.

A heart warming greetings of love to my Islamic brothers and sisters across the world...May Allah see you through this fasting and grant you more blessings after...The month of Ramadan this year begins today. Muslims around the world refrain from eating, drinking, and sexual activity from sunrise to sunset, in order to demonstrate their submission to God.

I think these two lovers have had a fair share of image promotion from the media because they are two controversial celebs coming together in the name of love...
The rapper, who has been dating the beautiful socialite since April after being friends with her for years, won’t watch Kim Kardashian’s sex tape.
Before their relationship became romantic, Kanye West would not look at the X-rated footage the reality TV star recorded with her ex-boyfriend Ray J – which was released as a DVD entitled Kim Kardashian Superstar in 2007 – and now they’re an item he wants to block it from his mind.

who cares whether he wants to view it or not ...

Ever since Miss Goldie was evicted from the BBA Stargame, Prezzo has been lonely...He confided in Talia that he wants to leave the game simply because he is feeling lonely and all the people in the House are isolating him.
“My tank is on empty right now. I’m done. I feel so lonely and the isolation is getting to me,” he said.

I wont be surprised if he relocates to Nigeria...then, we can be sure of the love he has for Goldie

I am sure we all know that credit must be given to Hollywood for the creativity involved in the production of their reality shows...such as Ice loves Coco, The Real Housewives of New York, New Jersey and Basketball wives. Well, there is a new series coming up titled ‘Naija Wives’! Nigerian women seem to be ready to play out their lives on camera!

I cant wait to view this, as i see it as a great idea...Auditions for the series come up on the 1st and 2nd of August 2012.

Do you long for a job where you can work in peace and quiet, without people constantly bugging you?
If you're not a people person, don't feel like you have to pretend to be one to get a good job, says Nancy Ancowitz, a business communication coach and author of "Self-Promotion for Introverts®: The Quiet Guide to Getting Ahead."
"After all, who wants to interact with a waiter, salesperson, or doctor who would be happier playing the professional equivalent of Solitaire?" Ancowitz asks. "Not everyone thrives in a customer-facing role - particularly the customers you're facing if you're not a people person."
The good news is that you don't necessarily have to be a people person to thrive in every career.

Are you happier focusing on spreadsheets and actually getting things done versus listening to coworkers or customers talking all day? Consider career options in accounting.
"As an accountant or auditor, concentrating on solitary tasks involving financial records, budgets, and tax code is far more important than being a social butterfly or showman,"

Wish you could be left alone with your thoughts a little more - and deal with people a little less? Consider pursuing a career as a technical writer and you just might get your wish.
"Many writers live a rich life inside their own heads," Ancowitz says. "Depending on what type of writing you do, your need to interact with the outside world may be more dependent on how well you stock your fridge than a burning need to 'party.'"

Do you dream of spending your days alone with your creativity, uninterrupted by noisy coworkers or customers? Consider pursuing a career as a graphic designer and your creativity might get to flow without interruption.
"The rest of the world mainly uses words to express themselves and visuals are an afterthought," Ancowitz says. "But for [graphic designers], visuals are your mother tongue and words may not flow so easily. You may enjoy lots of downtime so you can allow your creative thoughts to swirl around your head."
However, Ancowitz warns that some offices may come with coworkers that "may distract you from your creative process," so you'll want to pick and choose where you work wisely.

Do you prefer the reliability of machines to the unpredictability of people? You might want to consider pursuing a career as a software engineer.
"A lot of your work will probably entail sitting for hours on end at your computer rather than sitting at meetings all day,"

Are you happiest when you know exactly what you need to do, following specific instructions to the letter? You might want to consider a career as a medical laboratory technician.
"Medical lab technicians often work with one patient at a time as well as behind-the-scenes," Ancowitz says. "This job may be appealing to you because it doesn't entail campaign speeches, back-to-back meetings, or nonstop schmoozing."

Do you like the idea of thwarting criminals before they can cause major damage - but don't want to deal with people face to face? Consider preparing to pursue a career as an information security analyst.
"This is another career that is great for those who like to remain behind the scenes," Ancowitz says. She notes that this could be perfect for someone who's "got the mind of a sleuth, the energy of a watchdog, and the patience and persistence to solve complex technical problems."

Born on July 18, 1918 in Transkei, South Africa. He became actively involved in the anti-apartheid movement and joined the African National Congress in 1942. For 20 years, he directed a campaign of peaceful, non-violent defiance against the South African government and its racist policies. In 1994, Mandela was inaugurated as the country's first black president. In 2009, Mandela's birthday, July 18th, was declared Mandela Day,

In 2010, Mandela made his last public appearance at the final match of the World Cup, held in South Africa. He has largely stepped out of the spotlight, choosing to spend much of his time in his childhood community of Qunu, south of Johannesburg. He did, however, visit with American First Lady, Michelle Obama during her trip to South Africa in 2011.
There have been growing concerns about Mandela's health. In early 2012,

Though he has retired, Mandela continues to be a source of inspiration for other activists. There has been an effort to transform his birthday into an international day of good works. According to the organizers for Mandela Day, the potential international event would help encourage citizens worldwide to give back the way that Mandela did. According to a statement on their website: "Mr. Mandela gave 67 years of his life fighting for the rights of humanity. All we are asking is that everyone gives 67 minutes of their time, whether it's supporting your chosen charity or serving your local community."

Despite legal issues, a recent car crash and run-in with paramedics, Lindsay Lohan has secured her next movie role... Lohan will star in "The Canyons," a film by "Less Than Zero" author Bret Easton Ellis about sex and ambition among 20-somethings in Los Angeles.

Lohan recently completed work on the Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick," in which she played Elizabeth Taylor. During that production, she crashed her Porsche into a dump truck and a week later was treated by paramedics for exhaustion and dehydration. Police haven't released their findings in the June 8 car crash, and no charges have been filed.
Last week, Lohan's attorneys confirmed that she has resolved a case filed by three men she took on a high-speed ride that resulted in her second driving under the influence arrest in 2007.
Lohan remains on informal probation for taking a necklace last year from a jewelry store without permission. She is not required to check in with a judge or probation officer, but could face a jail term if she is re-arrested.

This is a regular scene at most points where pedestrian bridges are constructed in Lagos and it amazes me that majority do not use them...and yet we complain that social infrastructures are not in place.
A regular occurence is seen at Ojota, Palmgroove, Onipanu and Barracks area of Ikorodu Road in Lagos...and i must say that no one should blame any car user for knocking down these people...we risk our life by crossing the express with pregnancies, children and travel luggage's...many have gone

"Weeds" is part of a rare group of cable TV shows: The Showtime series starring Mary-Louise Parker celebrated the taping of its 100th episode.
Showtime's entertainment president, David Nevins, told the "Weeds" cast and crew Tuesday that only a few cable series have reached 100 episodes. Among them is "Monk."
Parker and her co-stars, including Kevin Nealon, marked the event with cake and champagne while shooting on location in Los Angeles. The actress was casually dressed in the blouse and cutoffs that she wore for a scene taped earlier.
Parker plays a pot-dealing suburban mom in "Weeds," which will end its eight-year run in September.

Do you think you have what it takes to be the next Michael Jackson...then a window is open for you at the Hollywood studios...
Producers of a musical based on the life of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy are seeking an exceptionally talented young actor — one who can play a preteen Gordy, a young Michael Jackson and a precocious Stevie Wonder.
Gordy launched an audition website on Tuesday to help find the young man between the ages of 8 and 11 who can sing, dance and act like the King of Pop in his Jackson 5 days and Wonder at about age 11.
"Motown" will open on Broadway next spring.
Gordy says he's not looking for imitators, but someone who "can be themselves in the role" and give him "the same chills" he experienced when he first saw Jackson at age 10 in 1968.

The Future Awards is one of the most consistent and reliable awards in NIGERIA, recognizing excellence and hardwork among the young Nigeians spread across the world...
The 2012 awards is getting close and nominees for the young person of the year is out and i would really love to know why the likes of Bankole Wellington, Dapo Oyebanjo, Peter and Paul Okoye, and Linda Ikeji are put in such categories as aspiring winners...Dont get me wrong here, these guys are exceptional and outstanding in their chosen carers and talents but some of them keep appearing every year as nominees for this category.

I give credit to the team of Chude and Adebola but please, when we say young...lets define the young very well...a kind of young that will shake and truly inspire a nation for development of its people.

Think about putting Justin Bieber and James Franco in one category as Young person of the Year...i dont think it flows because there is a gap of career development which you cant interprete by their age...

There are strong indications that Grammy Award winner, Mariah Carey may fill the place of Jennifer Lopez as American Idol Judge...Both JLO and Steven Tyler have stepped down after two seasons leaving only Randy Jackson who is a manager, producer and friend of Mariah.

If Carey were to join, she'd bring considerable expertise on hitmaking: The Grammy-winner is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with numerous No. 1 hits. She's currently working on a new album, her first since her twins were born last year.
It would also give the show a heavy dose of superstardom, which is key considering the star power on shows like "X Factor," which added Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as judges and will begin its second season in the fall.

The author of "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" as well as several other books that together have sold millions of copies, has died. He was 79.
In a statement sent to employees of a Utah consulting firm Covey co-founded, his family said the writer and motivational speaker died at a hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho, early Monday due to complications from a bicycle accident in April.
"In his final hours, he was surrounded by his loving wife and each one of his children and their spouses, just as he always wanted," the family said.
Covey was hospitalized after being knocked unconscious in the bike crash on a steep road in the foothills of Provo, Utah, about 45 miles south of Salt Lake City.
Covey, a Utah native, was considered a pioneer in the self-help genre aimed at helping readers become more productive in their lives, most notably with "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People," which sold more than 20 million copies in 38 languages.

Do you know that your playing a dangerous game with your reproductive part by wearing extremely skinny jeans? Reports shows that there are cases of twisted groins due to this fashion sense..and back here in Naija, especially Lagos...its over flooded and a day wont pass without seeing this style..
Its actually called SKINNY JEANS SYNDROME...just heard about it myself and the fear of not being able to father a child comes quickly to mind...all in the name of looking good...

Wearing tight-fitting clothing over a prolonged period of time can lead to urinary tract infections leading to over-activity of the bladder as well as a low sperm count and fungal infections.

so, we are advised to leave some room for breath, if you get that drift.

A very bad time for such a gentle hardworking Secretary of State...
On Sunday, protesters threw tomatoes, water bottles and shoes at U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s motorcade on Sunday during her first visit to Egypt since the election of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi.
Some protesters were on the streets chanting “Monica, Monica” and “Leave Clinton”. The protesting crowds hailed the motorcade with tomatoes and other objects, reportedly hitting one of the Egyptian officials in the convoy in the face. However, Hillary Clinton’s car remained intact.
The protesters accused the US of interfering into Egypt’s internal affairs and would you blame them, considering where they are coming from...its more like trying to reap where you didnt sow...

Officials at the provincial Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) blamed high temperatures for the surge in the disease incidence rate compared with June last year. It did not disclose how many cases were recorded in June 2011.
The provincial CDC said parents and teachers should send children to hospital if they show symptoms of the disease, such as mouth sores, skin rashes or fever.
Hunan provincial health department data showed that the disease killed 19 children in the province in April, the Xinhua report said.
Hand, foot and mouth disease is a viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than five years old.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The 36-year-old son of Sylvester Stallone was found dead in his Los Angeles home Friday, leaving the actor grief-stricken as authorities investigated the cause, a publicist and authorities said.
Sage Stallone was found unresponsive by an employee and a relative. There were no signs of foul play or trauma, and no suicide note was found, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said.

"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son," publicist Michelle Bega said in a statement. "His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha."
He was found Friday afternoon at his home on Mullholland Drive in the Studio City area, and police arrived and confirmed he was dead, Winter said.
Prescription bottles were recovered in the investigation, but Winter could not say what kind or how many, and whether they had a role in his death. Winter said an autopsy will be performed in the next few days and investigators will look into Stallone's medical history, but a cause of death was likely to take several weeks while toxicology tests are performed.

George Braunstein, an attorney who has represented Sage Stallone for 15 years, said friends and acquaintances had become concerned because they hadn't heard from Stallone in the past day, Braunstein said. He said the employee who found the body was a housekeeper.
Sylvester Stallone appeared Thursday at Comic-Con, the San Diego pop culture festival, to promote his upcoming film "Expendables 2" with friend and co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was not clear whether he had remained at the convention or had returned to Los Angeles Friday.

Sage Moonblood Stallone was the oldest of Sylvester Stallone's children and co-starred with his father in two films. He was the first of two sons Stallone had with first wife Sasha Czack.
"Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever," Bega said.
