Whenever you visit most public Lagos beaches, you find all sort of people there either residing, transacting business or conducting a spiritual ceremony but how prepared are they for any natural disaster via ocean surges and flooding...in essence, it is very important for the state government to take proper measures by preserving the beach for tourism...

Recently, one person has been confirmed dead and fifteen others missing in an ocean surge today sacked communities around Kuramo Beach in Lagos Nigeria.
Reportedly, the incident occurred at about 2 a.m. when residents were asleep, adding that those affected were mainly people occupying illegal shanties at the beach front.
There is still on a frantic search for about 15 people still missing. The entire area has been cordoned off and  residents have been asked to vacate immediately.
