WORST FLOOD HITS PLATEAU...

In Plateau state, it has been raining heavily for three days causing rivers to swell and streams to overflow.
The flood washed away homesteads, bridges, farmlands and livestock.  Over 1,000 families in Southern Plateau have been rendered homeless. The Shendam bridge gave way yesterday morning complicating the situation by cutting off access to the affected areas and the link between Plateau State and neighbouring Nasarawa and Taraba States.

Among those stranded in Shendam town were NEMA officials, who had visited the town on Monday to distribute relief materials to victims of early floods in Wase, Langtang and Shendam. Since the NEMA officials are also stranded, we can be sure a rescue team would soon arrive.
The flood has been described as the worst Plateau state has experienced in 50 years.

This is a time our government needs to sit up and face crucial matters than coming up with a 5000 naira note...
