A TIME FOR EVERYTHING...

When the Bible says A time for everything; A time to be born and A time to Die..It means a whole lot of things...So many other life wise sayings have emerged and are still emerging daily. How about making hay while the sun shines, Life is short or Never put all your eggs in one basket..Where am i driving at?

When I heard the news about the death of Veteran Film Producer and Director, Amaka Igwe, I wanted to jump on-line and say something just like everybody, use her image as a display picture or something but rather I thought about several events that has occurred prior to that news, and so I decided to talk about Time..Its value, use, significant and essence in Man's quest upon this earth...and so I asked, How have you used your time so far?

A day before I heard about her death, I paid a visit to a colleague who was delivered of twins, alongside other colleagues..while merrying and drinking to what God has done in the life of this couple, A colleague received a news right there that his dad has passed on...What do some Nigerians say then...Such is life but could it be the fact that..such is Life..That some newly weds get that baby cry in a twinkle of an eye and those of many years are still waiting....entrance and exit circles?

A time to mourn and A time to rejoice....Amidst all of these events, It is quite important we make the best use of our time..Cry, Smile, Laugh, Hate, Forgive but above all, let your body and soul be in a good state when events rapidly unfold before your eyes and It might seem like everything might collapse but No...It is a Time for Everything.

Live a Purposeful life and you will not regret it.

DEJI BAKARE APOLOGIZES TO FANS...

One of the outstanding features of certain celebrities across the globe is their humane and down-to-earth personality, and Deji Bakare is no exception in that regard...It is no news again that Mr Bakare was absent at the just concluded Silverbird Group organized Mr. Nigeria pageant for the year 2014. This should have been an honour to both Deji Bakare, who would have handed over the crown to current winner, Emmanuel Ikubese.

Mr. Bakare's absence from Mr Nigeria 2014 is not intentional in any way. He has been in Canada for a while now with much concentration on the various projects on his desk and still trying to keep close touch with home, fans and family. Deji Bakare is currently on a consulting job, focusing on another edition of Deji Bakare Talent Search Season 2 and also taking his modelling career to the next level. However, He was informed about the pageant a week to the finale but notwithstanding, Deji sincerely apologizes to his fans.

To the current Mr. Nigeria 2014, Mr. Emmanuel Ikubese, Deji says he should be very strong, be a man of his own, Do not listen to what people say and above all, make that impact to people. A significant moment is the fact that Deji Bakare fell in love with the parents of Emmanuel and expressed that they are real loving people, In his words, ''There is nothing as good as family supporting and encouraging what you do and believe in, I believe they will push you to the next level''.

It is with grace and honour that Deji Bakare endorses Emmanuel Ikubese as Mr. Nigeria 2014 and encourages him to be that Mr. Nigeria by keeping the dream alive.

IS WEIRD MC STILL ALIVE?

There are only a few women associated with Afro beat and one of such talented personae is Adesola Idowu, proudly known as Weird Mc..44 years old Sola was born in England to conservative parents who did not support showbiz as a career but alas, that is another story for another party...Where exactly is she right now?

Weird Mc is a very unique Performing and Recording Artiste and some of her tracks actually earned her awards including the famous Ijoya-which means time to dance; this successfully recorded song got her an AMEN Award for Best Pop Song and A Channel O Music Video Award for Best Special Effect Video in 2006.

The Media in Nigeria should be concerned about Its People in the creative business. You do not talk only when they are celebrated; they also matter when the chips or If the chips are down. I am not saying she has nothing to offer us again but as a concerned fan, We ought to care about the whereabouts of Weird Mc.

I would really love her back in the scene as a female act who knows how to cook a good Afro beat meal for Nigerians...By the way, Did you know Sola Idowu studied Music Technology in London?
Thanks to Wikipedia. And If you call yourself a celebrity in Nigeria and your name is not found in Wikipedia..Think again before you blow your trumpet too much in the face of the media

CAN THE LIGHT SHINE ''GREENE'' ON TEAM NIGERIA?

Four Time Olympic Champion, Maurice Greene has been appointed by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria to coordinate the Team Nigeria Track and Field Contingents. AFN Secretary General, Olumide Bamiduro, on Thursday revealed in a statement, Greene’s contract is expected to begin at the Mt. Sac Relay in California later this month through to the Africa Senior Athletics Championships in Marrakesh, Morocco in August.

This sounds good on paper but I do hope that bringing a Greene to the Nigerian Spotlight can actually create that winning magic...The 39-year-old former 100m world record holder with a time of 9.79 seconds will also be in charge of Nigerian athletes at the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas and the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.Mr. Greene accepted the offer and says Its a way of giving back to Africa

As we know that Nigeria is no stranger to being acquainted with International Professionals when it comes to redeeming certain images in our sporting business...As Timi Dakolo sang, ''This little light of mine...Let is shine''

STYLING- A WORLD OF GENEVIEVE NNAJI

Genevieve Nnaji is no doubt one of the sexiest Nollywood Divas across Africa and several people have their opinions about her; from being snobbish to several hate comments but she has held herself high and her career has not stopped but rather, several endorsement deals and international recognitions have continued to struck, A recent which is the Etisalat Deal worth Millions of Naira.

I came across this picture on her instagram page and decided to travel back and see other images of her and I simply feel she is a true testimony of style...Her transformation is amazing and I must applaud her for reserving the black beauty till date. That is one of the reasons she is rated top among the sexiest.

From her hair style, clothing, career, carriage and personae...It is a complete brand worth billions of Dollars considering the time and effort she has put together in emerging this way.

If you claim to be a celebrated personality and you have not evolved like this, please take a cue from this African Beauty..

LOVE DOES NOT COST A THING...

In every Marriage, there are challenges that comes every now and then but once you have made up your mind that It is a sacred determination to make things work, then, you are on a smooth ride to enjoying the best of that decision to live together. For better. For worse...Barack and Michelle Obama are not angels in its definition but am very sure they are matured about how to handle their marriage despite being the Number One citizens of the United States of America.

Mr. President used his powerful hand to stop the First Lady’s striped satin skirt from being blown up by the wind. They were getting off Air Force One on the way to the LBJ Presidential Library for a Civil Rights Summit in Austin, Texas when the strong gust of wind threatened to embarrass his wife and he smiled the whole time!.

It might not mean anything but to Michelle, I believe It shows how humane and loving Mr. President is despite handling serious governmental issues across the country..

GUMSU ABACHA GOES VOCAL AGAIN...

Gumsu, The Beautiful Daughter of the Late Nigerian Head of State, General Sani Abacha never hides behind a mirror to speak her mind at all times...She recently tweeted some sensitive words as regards the new Federal Government lawsuit against her brother Mohammed Sani Abacha for unlawfully receiving about N446.3billion allegedly stolen from government’s coffers between 1995 and 1998.
Without trying to be on her side, I believe one is innocent until you are 100% proven guilty...For now, these could be swallowed as allegations but she has every right by nature and conviction to be on her brother's side...

Mohammed is, in the charge of nine counts, accused of “dishonestly receiving stolen property” and “voluntarily assisting in concealing money.” The charge replaced the earlier one of 121 counts in which Mohammed was charged with Atiku Bagudu, who is excluded from the fresh charge. The Abacha Family have been in the news since the death of the Late Head of State and I hope that one day, they will be free from all these issues.

OPEYEMI BAMIDELE VOWS NOT TO COLLECT SALARIES...

Honorable Opeyemi Bamidele has been having a successful growth in his career as a politician and government office holder; From being a Commissioner in Lagos to a member of the House of Representative at Abuja and now, He is determined to be the Numero Uno in Ekiti State and I ask, Are the People of Ekiti ready to receive their son as Governor? Well, I do not have the answer to that...

He has however made a very significant statement or what some of you might term as a strategy into being elected..Mr Opeyemi Bamidele has vowed not to collect salaries and emoluments throughout his four year tenure if elected governor of the state but would rather open a special account for his salaries and emoluments to cater for the vulnerable persons in the society. He made the vow while campaigning at Igede-Ekiti in Irepodun/ Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

“The best way to appreciate God is to give back to the people,’’ he said.
While commending the current administration in the state for doing its best, Bamidele stated that he is in the race to do better things for the people of Ekiti. He also pledged not to seek a second term if he wins the election, saying ‘four years is enough for anyone to implement his programmes’.

There are some interesting statements here-Pledging not to run for a second term and dedication of his salary to the vulnerable...Now, you have the power to decide If these words will affect you or not. Yes, Like I say most times, Talk is quite very cheap but your words can actually go as far as implicating you
..

Well, everyone is going to come up with various strategies to get to these positions, In all of these..Our interest matters and I think that's the step taken by Mr Opeyemi Bamidele. Ekiti, It is in your hands...

EVEN THE CONFABIANS SEEK MONETIZATION FOR THEIR FOOD...

There are reports that the delegates at the National Conference holding at Abuja complained about their meals...A group, the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) described the delegates’ action as selfish, saying rather than focus on burning national issues that brought about the conference in the first place, they were busy dwelling on trivial issues.

Some Weeks earlier, It was about allowances for their aides..I do not get. The aides are also part of the conference, and aside all these, there are empty seats during most deliberations of each day and I ask, What is the purpose of this conference, contributions are not made sincerely except on personal gains.

The executive chairman of CACOL, Mr. Debo Adeniran, in a statement on Friday, stated that many of the delegates have forgotten the reason for the conference. He said, “It’s high time some of the delegates realized that the Conference is meant to discuss critical issues about Nigeria and chart a new course for the country and not just to deliberate on inconsequential things.

The rejection of food by some of them is a pointer to the selfishness of our so-called leaders. That is another way to show clearly that many are at the conference for the material gains.

Why must you complain about the food, Is that not what makes us smile, fat and happy as a nation? and you should show more concerns about the outcome of the conference and the effect on the people, not the food, after all, you can afford to treat yourself nicely from your paid allowance. This just reminds me of the National Assembly where you also have empty seats and senators demanding for some funny allowances. Accounts must be given at the end of our journey on earth when we all shall be audited. Is this a Legacy?

...AND THE POLITICAL SELFIE HITS US

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is a well respected politician in Nigeria and he has truly converted Osun State to a place where everyone around the world loves to see. I must give an applause to his Media Publicist, Special Advisers and Associates who came up with this idea but If Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola actually came up with this, He is the Man and he must be so socially updated with the trends around the world.

If we recall that Ellen DeGeneres did something similar at the last Oscars and immediately went viral becoming a famous selfie, after it was re tweeted globally and beating popular tweets of President Obama.
This is a very good campaign strategy and It brings goodwill and reputation to an open circuit. If you cannot have time to take an informal picture with your followers, then, perhaps your leadership is nothing..If this was a billboard with the statement, Vote for Ogbeni Rauf...I think It will win my heart first before my vote...We should definitely expect more political selfies soon, but please add some smile just like Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola...

THE NIGERIAN POLITICS-A RECYCLED INDUSTRY

Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are. How about showing me your leaders and I will tell you the kind of followers you have. Evidently, we can see why President Obama of the United States, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, John Dramani Mahama of Ghana and so many other outstanding world leaders are adored and loved by their people despite various policies that are not welcomed by their people. In our case, the reverse is the case.

Let us face it, we do not have a complete soulful revolution spirit but we can talk, send across our feelings through strikes and other funny tactics but how far will that take us to the promise land we keep yearning about. And by the way, Is there any map to reveal how close we are to the promise land...I guess our aspiring politicians can explain better because they have been there. And still there and do not want to leave...?

Is that the young generation cannot handle the various affairs of this nation; economics, social, judiciary, governance, health, and so on ? Why do we feel comfortable with the same people and ideas. Yes, these factors have been nursed and discussed for ages but are we really not tired.

When you recycle waste, you create an advantage out of it. If we have any reason to vote back a past leader, there must be something different about that come-back and that should be written down, documented and presented before the constituency; thereafter, the people can be rest assured that this man or woman deserves a second chance at governance.

As the elections draw near in Nigeria, several politicians are making their way back into the system, so much transfer is going on just like the Football leagues, everyone is seeking for the best team players and no one is talking about the constituency, the people, the children. unfortunately, the youth and women are like the most vulnerable during these times..

It is actually not a big deal if past leaders are returning, perhaps, It only shows those in the present cannot lead but again, Have they been given the platform and opportunity..? and I conclude, start from your family, your community, your work place and so on.

Talk is cheap but vote for a leader you know has the interest of your retired father, your community, your children and your future. Recycled or not recycled.

HAVE YOU MET WALIYAH ABIOLA...?

If you think Chief M.K.O Abiola's is really gone..You are totally mistaken because He has various seeds all over the world who are doing great exploits despite the various controversies that surrounds the family..I saw this gorgeous personae online and I must say, She is a true replica of Late Chief Abiola, A popular Nigerian Politician and Freedom Fighter...Meet Waliyah Abiola, An emerging Singer/Song Writer and a Graduate of Imperial College, London.Waliyah said she hates to tell people she is an Abiola, so people won’t think she’s trying to use her father’s name to step up her career. She said she has been doing her music without the name, and she is comfortable with it.
As you know, It is very hard to have such a man like Abiola as your father without having fond memories of him...She recounts her moment with her dad..''He loved to sing and was in a band. He often sang at weddings and as a school boy in Abeokuta. I have fond memories of him singing, “The Beatles” songs in the kitchen. This must have been a relic from the time when he was studying to become an accountant in Scotland.''

HAVE YOU BEEN CONFABD' LATELY...?

It is no longer news that various dignitaries across the Nation have converged in Abuja for about 2 weeks now, to discuss very vital issues that concerns Nigeria..I am not here to talk about the amount paid for attending this important project which is meant to last for 3 months neither will I question the selection of those representing various Ethnic groups across the country...

I am concerned about the feedback, even though It might seem to early to hear from them, It is quite important that this August gathering be televised everyday; On the contrary, We have been hearing about nice siesta sessions being observed whilst discussions are going on and the death of a representative from Bauchi State..

My question is where do we go after the 3 months of discussion..I am certain that the entire report will be collated into one document and presented to the National Assembly and subject to approval by the Presidency..and then, all delegates go back to their house, well fed and fully funded..I am not sure there is any delegate in his 30s..and yet, this is a National Conference

Is the Market Woman at Oyingbo, the Teacher at Makoko or an average Undergraduate represented at this conference..What will become of us as a nation..All these people will return and be indirect spokespersons for the Presidency by speaking good of them and their irrational plans for the nation..By the way, He who pays the Piper, dictates the tune..I dont want to be Confabd' by any means because we do not need to gather before this country can truly be on the right track...I thought we were at a time but alas, we have railed off the track...Someone, please call 911...

TOPE TEDELA- I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE...

When they say Never judge a book by Its cover...but If the cover speaks more than the inside of the book, then I might judge but positively this time...Tope Tedela is one book that says a lot from Its cover and without painting him too perfect like a Mona Lisa work, He is quite a gentleman with an extreme level of principle. With some sarcasm, He promptly interject my interview with him saying this and that is off record...

This native of Ekiti State started his Make-Believe Journey in 2006, when he featured in a Tv Drama, Edge of Paradise...A production he recounted as a beautiful experience. We can truly say Tope was born for this business judging from his story about his escapades withing the Literary and Debating Society at the Primary School Level. He actually got into trouble every time a play was organized.

Tope thought of doing everything and at a point, He was confused and did not know what to do because back then, It was actually unheard of to say you want to be an actor, despite his large interest in books, people and life but alas, the story is different today and being the Best Actor at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards is just a proof that he is on the right track of Life.
It is impossible to have such a chat and never delve towards his experience on the set of ''A Mile From Home'', the Action Thriller that gave him the Glory which every Journalist is trying to tap from today...He used three words to describe the experience- Fun, Challenging and Crazy...As a concerned person and knowing what is at stake, He kept on asking the director about the Genre, his role and the camera shots..You can imagine that even the cute ones worry about a camera angle...It tells us the level of his professionalism.

Tope says ''A lot of times, Its get to a point that you are scared If you can do certain roles and that feeling comes in from time to time, but one should be willing to learn, listen and prepare to take risk and work with people who know what they're doing.''

This Young man surely has a lot of responsibilities being the first child but that has not affected his principle in life, even though he described himself as a problematic child growing up...That also, did not affect him having the most significant legacy from his parents-Education...Tope Tedela is a Graduate of Mass Communication from the Prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka.
It is easy to picture Tope as an Up and Coming Actor but his level of intelligence and wisdom is very much needed in Nollywood..I asked him about the Industry and he was quick to say that a lot still needs to be done. In his opinion, The script is the foundation of every good film and that area he says, still needs to be cooked well..In essence, what we term as a screenplay is not a screenplay. He adds that despite all the imbalances, the Industry is still filled with amazing people, some of which you can draw inspiration from.

Do not bother to stress yourself about how to style this reserved, shy and homely gentleman, He does not give a hoot about Fashion but being comfortable with what he wears is just fine..He says one should wear what suits him/her and be reasonable about it..I guess no offense to all you Fashionistas across the world..Tope is a Soda fan and also enjoys fruits all the time.

Whenever an Actor gets an award such as the AMVCA, It is expected that a lot of Directors and Producers will hunt you down at all cost to include you in their flick, especially, when you possess that versatility and such testimony is not far from Tope's Yard, as the calls have been coming in but he has been involved in a couple of productions prior to the award..One of which is In My Father's House Directed by Jimi Odumosu.

All we can do is just to sit back, relax, enjoy and celebrate this young brilliant act who is spirited and determined to take his career to that height of motion picture glory...
