THE MORAL LESSON OF LUPITA NYONG'O AND ''AMERICANAH''
Brad Pitt's Plan B Production company was also behind 12 Years A Slave and the success of that movie cannot be over emphasized..Now, success I believe is very infectious; Chimamanda is an award winning author and not forgetting that the novel was the winner of the 2013 National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction and selected by the New York Times book review as one of the top 10 books of the year..What more can we say?
I am so eager to know the outcome of this deal-Brad Pitt and Lupita Nyong'o will surely surprise the world but I do not know If my Nollywood family will take a cue from this..Do not come up with financial support drama because there can always be a way around that but because of selfish desires, the industry will not move ahead..Thumbs up to those who are revamping theatre in Nigeria...Take time out to attend some stage plays in Lagos and you will understand what am talking about.
Are we really going to sit down and watch Hollywood grab all these literary pieces by Nigerians and turn them into a motion picture or just get a lesson from them and take on educational items here and create stories around them..Lupita has read the book and simply took advantage of the award winning fiction..What has Nollywood taken advantage of...Twitter fights, gossip, hatred, selfish desires at the expense of others, living above the status quo for no good reason...the list is endless. There are so many Literary items wasting away in our libraries today, We can check them out and create a film out of it..educate the young generations about marriage rites, family, ethnic bond and so on
