NIGERIAN ARTISTES AND THEIR RUSH TO OWN A RECORD LABEL...

Following the huge success of Double Wahala by Oritse Femi, He has pushed his career a step further by floating a record label of his own..He calls it MSN Gang and I can only wish him the best but am actually concerned about so many Nigerian Acts who after a successful track go ahead to run a record label..My question is what happens to their career and how well can they manage being a boss and a talent that needs to be managed?

There are so many acts in Nigeria who run labels on paper but their talents cannot account for the credibility of the record label..I believe an artiste should have acclaimed a great level in his career before floating a label and such an act should not get carried away by the financial gains of a track, except he is simply concerned about making money out of other music discoveries.

Oritse Femi has joined the long list of other notable and not-too-famous acts who are floating labels around the country, even Footballer, Mikel Obi is not left out...some with just an artiste while others can boast of about five to six...If he can manage it, then, Its all good with me and I do know that most artistes are trying to keep the financial gains within themselves than share it with labels...
