I took my tired looking self after a long day at a workshop to the Silverbird Galleria in Lagos to watch an highly anticipated drama film, Kumbaya (Come by home). I arrived quite early even when I know premieres do not start on time in Lagos but gradually, lots of invited guests arrived the venue including majority of the casts...Ok!..Let me fast forward!...

I would pat the producer on the back for coming this far because I know how challenging it is producing such in present day Nigeria but he must be ready to learn from his errors..avoidable errors and be better at his next project. Let me say that this is not a movie to be trashed but praised. Kumbaya opened with a beautiful montage...I loved every night scene I saw even though some of them were shot against untidy backgrounds. Let me jump right into the acting...Singer and songwriter, Essence, blew me off my seat...she simply proved that she is a worthy graduate of Theatre Art. I loved her deliveries, mannerisms and body language...I know the director must have pushed her to the limits against her comfort zone because majority laughed while watching most of her scenes.

We cannot push aside Aaron Sunday who simply proved he has a stake in Nollywood by a classic delivery of a 'bad boy' without being excessive or arrogant...simply cool and sexy. We did not see much of Lanre Hassan(Iya Awero) and neither did I feel a lot from Bayray Mcwizu. Ronke 'Oshodi Oke' Ojo also gave some humorous delivery of her role..Would I say It is more of a comic relief as described by some people, I do not know but the intrigued nature of the story line was empty. It was present but flat. This is a musical and our emotions should have been heightened by the circumstances surrounding the major character which is Alex. By the way, her acting shows she is a fresher but her vocal strength is beautiful.
I love the fact that the scenes were not too long except for some situations where Linda (Essence) was frying plantain with her son and Alex in the kitchen...that got awkward for me at a point and I told someone, I hope some rushes were not forgotten in this scene because it went on for too long and then a scene that seemed more like a musical video...Yes It is musical in nature but that was simply too long with no images relating to what the character wants us to feel in his song. I enjoyed most of the acting because they came out natural except for Alex's father who seemed like the scripts was placed right before him as a guide.

You will laugh watching Kumbaya but would you be gripped emotionally? I would say No. This is where the lighting mood, music mood, extreme close ups should have played out well..What was the major soundtrack...? Yea..I am asking myself just now because I do not know...This is a musical right...? The producer must sit down and check his errors so as to avoid a future recurrence and please do not use a director for such a sensitive role because he might lose the creativity in interpreting the story while dealing with his own lines...more so, he is not a professional actor.
Most of the costumes came out beautiful and make up too was calm and subtle but always do something to avoid excessive sweat while shooting except if it is needed as part of the interpretation. My classic high points in Kumbaya include Linda's mess when she came home drunk with Alex. Alex coming out to sing in place of Linda at the club, when Linda dropped a glass cup in her house; you might not be sure what she saw...the crazy relationship of Alex and her supposed boyfriend...the two men in the convenience getting acquainted and Mrs Coker's interaction with Linda's neighbor.

I would avoid giving a score but this is commendable but It can be better. I was concerned about the audio quality...something must be done about that too...the truth is when it comes to making a movie, everything must be right and being right does not have to equate to a billion dollar....the right people, the right steps must be taken...Talk may be cheap saying all of these but am sure the producer must have been getting more heats than this right now because some people have already trashed this.

Congratulations to everyone who was part of this project on or off the camera...If you believe the producer has much more to offer the industry, give him more pat and opportunity to grow in terms of support systems and am sure his next project will be better because you simply have to get it right each time you launch something new.

There is always something new every now and then in Nollywood and a lot of young people are beginning to embrace the reality of producing great films that can compete at the global stage and talented actor, Okey Uzoeshi has taken that bold step but am sorry to say, it is ''Something Wicked''...How wicked is this something, who creates this wickedness and what is this something...? Well, 2017 is not too far and am sure we are in for a great time. Now, I am really looking forward to this ''Something'' for one major reason-the cast...If you have seen Ireti Doyle in ''Torn'' and Adesuwa Etomi in ''Falling or Knocking on Heaven's Door'', then, you are in for a ride of a life time...Other great talents in this film include Gabriel Afolayan, Ivie Okujaie-Egboh, Beverly Naya, Keira Hewatch, Omowunmi Dada, Bisola Aiyeola and Okey Uzoeshi himself...

''Something Wicked'' is the story of a widow whose recently orphaned nephew moves into her home from the violence riddled Northern Nigeria, after the murder of his parents. This particular nephew had a difficult time fitting into his new family whist the widow struggled with the challenges of balancing a failing business and single parenthood. This family's bond is tested when they are thrown in a life threatening situation. We would see how misunderstandings lead to misconceptions and premonitions are sometimes the only warning we get in this game of life and death...In the opening of the thriller, a few comments were made regarding the preview that might have been seen but I will simply state that this drama film is simply thrilling, engaging and thought-provoking.
This project is produced by JAF Alliance and creatively brought to life under the directive of Yemi Morafa, who has to his credit, ''The Spotlight'' and ''2nd Coming''. This project is due for release in the first quarter of 2017.

This is the reason why we should have started this year on a more ideal note and not launching with a drama by Music giants in Nigeria,  Don Jazzy and Olamide...Nollywood Actress, Toyin Aimakhu is also having a fair share of her own directly or indirectly. This is not a new scenario where celebrities get into a misunderstanding or perhaps too forward about a course...the social media has been buzzing as various parties are throwing various jabs at the actress who truthfully must have had a genuine interest in trying to save the patient in question but surprisingly, a lack of understanding about the subject matter suddenly creates a distortion in communication leading to an outburst. Some of her colleagues have gone all out to scold the public on behalf of the actress...everyone seems to be acting childish on the work for the publicist all of a sudden.

I took time to read various posts and comments regarding this matter and all I could put together in my head is our dear wonderful actress lacks a proper understanding about her career and who she is in the public heard about a course and you simply jumped right into it...Did you consult your publicist? I am not sure you have one...Your publics are everywhere, even the hospital in question is a public and your mode of communication with them can affect your career...

I love your movies and your public personality but you must have a functioning publicist who thinks on your behalf..take away any emotional drama and find out about things before getting on board and if you do have a publicist, please pay the last salary and fire such an individual, all these post-drama statement would not have happened if your publicist is mentally alive...Nigerians are always standing by waiting for your next flaw...their data is very much available to comment, tag, scold you like they are your parents and instruct you about how to manage your life...All of these will weaken you in due course...this is why a publicist would have averted all these unscripted drama.

Honestly, take it or leave it...we know those personalities being managed by a proper publicist and am not sure some of our celebrities here understand the difference between a manager, an agent and a publicist...Genevieve Nnaji, Joseph Benjamin, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and a few others seems to be having a wonderful time with their career...Yes they will be getting some hit but when a proper communication is done with a publicist...the goal is achieved. Toyin Aimakhu is not the celebrity involved is a public outburst of an issue, there are weird and funny cases that fly around daily...Some people will say it is all publicity...I think there are greater deeds that can push someone to those heights...Yes she is human but she needs to think before acting all the time because It is her name that is out there and like she admits, she loves her career dearly...

This brings me to the subject of the publics...How many celebrities know their publics and please do not be fooled by the social media love drama because when you slide, these people can also throw shades at you. How many celebs go out of their comfort zone to shop together with regular Nigerians, do you take pictures with them on a normal day and am not referring to selfies during a movie premiere...Do you take time out to assist at the nursing home or do you even have a foundation dedicated to a course in your immediate community or state of origin. All of these are still subject to discussion with your management or publicist who will guide you in any step you want to take.

Nigerians are lovely people but then showbiz must be done professionally...It is necessary to know the publics and understand why they love you truly..A lot of A-List stars in Nigeria do lack that and since the bill is paying so well beyond the continent for them, they care less about what we think back home...Much respect to some who have professional schools training others, some are offering scholarship schemes and others are involved in some charity course...If your emotions are too strong, do not even bother managing your social media accounts...I know this will not stop Nigerians from watching her next film but again, they already have or formed an opinion about her level of intelligence and emotions...

There are Journalists...and there are journalists who not only understand their scope of work but have also carved a niche in a certain aspect of journalism. It might be easy to write a news but how many professionals can give constructive and critical analyses about issues in a certain sector...Harry Itie is an entertainment correspondent with an award winning Pan-African Television station in Nigeria but he has also extended his passion to the online forum by creating ''The Harry Minute''...In a recent chat with him, he expressed more about his passion.

Harry Itie has a keen interest in the entertainment industry and his job as an entertainment correspondent has given him the opportunity to meet with top celebrities across the continent. He has always been passionate about the pop culture globally and what better way to express yourself in this current savvy century than having an online platform where people can visit, read and drop comments regarding various topics of discuss or commentaries relating to pop culture...behold the birth of Harry Minute.

Running such a platform also comes with the challenge of creating topics that people would find appealing and interesting but thankfully, he has been open with his friends whom he shares ideas with on his choice of topic and It has been amazing for him because he also gets feedback from visitors who share their thoughts on new elements that can be added to the platform. Aside Harry, there are so many blogs and vlogs online today and he expressed his feelings saying everyone is not real and passionate like it was in the beginning. He is looking forward to diversification like sports and technology blogs or vlogs.
When you trace the childhood of most creative and talented people today, you will find out that they had a very interesting time growing up. Harry watched a lot of Disney Cartoons, which he believes shaped the man he has become today. He also recalled the mock television shows he does with his neighbor and this is not the only inspirational thing to pick from here as he eats, drinks and sleep music...he describes music as his biggest inspiration...a lot of the posts and stories on his platform have generated from different songs.

It is interesting going around and interviewing some of the biggest celebrity brands in Nigeria but is the showbiz growing or can it be equated with what obtains at the global stage? Harry says It is growing but people are still not getting the business aspect right despite having the talent and charisma for the show aspect and that is why there is a lot of record label fights and contractual disputes. Harry can be described as a star based on his definition when I asked him..He says a star is someone who performs excellently well in their chosen field while a celebrity is someone popular in a particular society...

Despite a busy schedule, Harry loves to spend time with friends, watch movies and television shows. He is looking forward to a better online journalism because it is growing rapidly but then something must be done about access to internet facility especially those in the rural areas

I cannot stand women who sit down with their babies at most pedestrian bridges in the Lagos Metropolis to beg for money...and now, some women also rent out their babies in exchange for money daily. This is what the nation has become especially during this change strata that is affecting everyone in the country. Many families find it difficult to have a good meal and everyone is forced to cut their spending's to a minimal level. Before I express my thought about this particular woman that has been apprehended by the state for renting out her child..Let me address some things here...

It is time women need to be enlightened about the need of a child..It is not just about the girl power, feminist agenda or independent shindig...How about the need of a child..? Sex is sweet but there are some people who are not enlightened enough about the product of sex because some men will simply run and abandon the woman, who will end up on the street to beg for money to take care of her child or children. Any man who is indulging in such should not be called a man if he cannot live up to his responsibility and why put a woman in a family way when you are certain you will not stand by her.

A 40 year old woman was arrested alongside four other women for renting out their babies daily at the rate of 1,000 to 1,500 Naira daily. They would give out the child at 5.PM and get their child back at 7.PM with their profit for that day...This is very ridiculous but do we blame them...Talk is cheap...Yes she is guilty in the eyes of the law and God but It is time our government at all levels wake up and save the nation before we begin to rent out or even sell ourselves at any cost.

The infants have been taken to a rehabilitation and training center at Ikorodu in Lagos for shelter while investigation is ongoing which would likely lead to the prosecution of these women. The Lagos State government says it will not condone street begging but this is more than street begging...If citizens have a defined life, they will not go to the street to beg..I am not sure they have an idea what some people are going through when they wake up from their bed...that is if they have a home or roof over their head...

This is not just a federal government affair; there are wives of Local government chairmen across the nation, wives of governors, commissioners, senators and so on...What exactly is their plan for the Nigerian woman...? Who are you representing when you go outside the county...? Let us stop deceiving ourselves for posterity will judge...Yes, It is bad but something must be done to save the Nigerian woman...

The rumors have been everywhere for a long time, even the actor admits it as the wildest rumor in the world..most fans want him as the next James Bond after Daniel Craig who says he is done with the character despite an ongoing agreement to do one more movie. Idris Elba is good, sexy, action packed but he says he is too old to play James Bond...running around in cars, flirting with the ladies and Martinis...He describes it as a terrible idea but Is it really a terrible idea...? 44 year old Idris Elba is still having a good time as an actor and also has a clothing line...What exactly will it really take to bring an A-Game as James Bond...Truthfully, It's all about the creating and selling something real to the public.

To some other persons, the issue of a black James Bond is what comes to mind...If it makes sense in their head...while others say he is not that cool to play the character...If we recall in September 2015, there was controversy when James Bond Author, Anthony Horowitz said Elba was ''too street'' to play 007. He said ''Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part,''. He further said ''It's not a color issue, I think he is probably a bit too street for Bond''. He has however apologized for that statement but is it not the work of a Director and an artistic director to give an interpretation of what they want out of an actor.

We have not seen a lot of him facially this year...He voiced characters in Zootopia, Jungle Book and Finding Dory and playing the Villain in Star Trek Beyond...I am of the opinion that Idris Elba can deliver; He has the accent, the suave, the charisma, even though I feel his concerns about the whole chase drama in the movie...will he reject it if the offer truly knocks at his door...? I believe Elba would make Bond more famous than we imagine and might even gross in more profit at the box office because he might deliver better than Daniel Craig...and Daniel is 48,four years older than Elba.

kunle Afolayan is no doubt a very good professional in film making because I love the fact that he is using the cinema to tell the African Story..From Figurine, Irapada to October 1..I must take a bow for all his effort but is the CEO the best of him..? I am not sure, not based on the cinematography but If the story was well grounded.?..No one said a single word or clapped at the cinema when we finished...A good story should be whispered about while we leave the hall...Yes, there were some artistic moment but I was very thirsty for more as I just watched through to see who eventually became the CEO.

Let us get real here..The film seemed highly commercial at the beginning..I began feeling a movie when these five senior executives sat down for serious business...Yes, we all know some top brands were behind this production but do not throw it right in our faces lest we forget the reason why we were at the cinema. To the acting, I will give most credit to Hilda Dokubo and Wale Ojo...There was a lot of confusion for me towards the end...Was it really thrilling for me?...a bit..I would have loved to see how the first two executives died and there is nothing bad showing us a bit of who was behind it all these while...there are technical directions in achieving such and still maintaining suspense.

This is not about making this film very African but there are certain interpretations that would have made it mind blowing, highly intriguing and thrilling just like what obtains in some Hollywood productions... Figurine was more thrilling, Irapada had me on the edge of my seat while October 1 was very convincing but I do not know where to stand on this one...I only enjoyed the scenery and the outcome of the games which coincided with a death of a senior executive...The story plaid smart by killing the husband of Eloise Toure following her defeat during the games.

Is the cast convincing...? How did he go about the casting...? Kunle Afolayan should have a better answer more than anyone else but I was not all that convinced with some of the actors. It was produced well but not directed well....It was shot well and the camera angles were excellent. It was obvious you were doing Dekunle Gold a favor and not really being a part of the movie...As a Director, I would fuse him into the story...any of the characters could have walked up to him and give him a business card or he hangs out with the general crowd after performing...perhaps using an in-house disc jockey would have been better.

This does not change my expectation in the future but I do believe more creative productions will come from Kunle Afolayan...This is an award winning film in terms of picture, light and sound but not a convincing story line and Hilda Dokubo can be nominated for an award as a supporting role in this film

Following the huge success attained with ''30 Days in Atlanta'' grossing about 138 Million Naira at the box office. Celebrated Comedian turned Movie Producer, Ayo Makun popularly known as AY decided to take the trip further to Jamaica but this time, he has Actresses, Funke Akindele and Nse Ikpe-Etim as his escort to the Reggae Land. Is this a sequel to the Atlanta trip or simply a fresh idea...? 30 Days in Atlanta was quite funny but did not establish Ayo Makun as a grounded actor...If he claims to be one and there were so many things going on at the same time without a good continuity flow from one scene to another.

Many termed it as another Jenifa drama or Osuofia in London...I give credit to him for pulling off such a production but I do hope we will see a better acting delivery from most of the cast especially Ayo Makun because there are very good actors who can interpret comedy roles better than comedians...Funke should also note that being funny as Jenifa does not equate for this movie...Anyway, the movie has been shot and due for release very soon.

I am looking forward to laugh because I know I will laugh...but I want to see AY deliver some great acting skills in terms of dialogue and expression...I believe the Director, Robert Peters is highly professional and knows that the stage is very different from film...It means we expect AY should know that less is more with film. Above all, this is good for Nollywood in terms of cultural integration and opening more doors for more production. I do not expect less from Nse Ikpe-Etim...She is a better interpreter of comedy than Funke Akindele and by that I mean the sense of humor infused into the screenplay as dialogue for the actor. This should also be another platinum gross income for Ayo Makun...but please, do not surprise us with another trip.

I had the privilege to witness the creation of a Lookbook for the first time at the Ade Bakare Couture Outlet in Lagos. It was really an interesting time hanging out with the models who looked amazing in most of the designs...the amazing Ofure Ighalo was the photographer and he took his time in getting the best out of the models. It was actually a whole day affair...Some of the designs for the lookbook were actually showcased on the runway at the recently held African Fashion Week in Lagos where Ade Bakare was an headline designer for the gala nite.

This is a Neoprene Tangerine high neck coat with various beaded flowers in colours.

I do hope there is enough space to take so many of us if we are to consider the number of Lagos residence who patronize street hawkers...Is it for the fact that many of us have to fill our tummies while going home, after a hard day with a nagging colleague or boss...these street hawkers are the solution to some people who cannot help but do something about their quick hunger for the road. I respect the state government taking a decision after the incident that occurred at the Maryland Axis of Ikorodu Road recently but surprisingly, It is not the hawkers alone that would face the music...we the buyers would have to pay a fine or a six month jail term...(smiles)

The Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode recently appeared on a breakfast show where he emphasized more on the state laws regarding street hawking...A fine of 90,000 Naira is also involved here for patronizing a street hawker...I would like to add that the state government should do something about the traffic jam in the state, thereby, we all can reach our homes early enough to make dinner or find something to eat..some of us have to buy something on the road because we are stuck in a jam that could last for about 3 hours...just within a state..It is crazy and as for the hawkers, I am sure the state understands the word hustle...It is a big deal in Lagos because bills must be paid..even babes are not left out of the bills and some women are widows! they must survive by all much more to define.

I am not defending them but what is the future for these people because not everyone can afford a lock up store in Lagos...By the way, It was very wrong for a law enforcement agent to pursue someone who has not been identified as a threat to the peace of the community. However, I do have some reservations about some areas like Ketu where the roads have been completely turned to a market square with all sorts of commodities...You can even grind your pepper, onions and tomatoes for stew right on a major road...Nigeria must survive..(smiles). When laws are enforced, please consider alternatives for the citizens...this is democracy and we all have a say because we voted someone in to lead and direct us...

There are reports or rumors that there might be a serious feud boiling with the Five Star Music management and their ''Share the Gala'' Artiste, HarrySong over a decision about a certain One Delta Concert and his musical album. This is not a new drama when label executives and their babies have to wrestle and argue over some decisions concerning the growth of an artiste. As you know, he who pays the piper, dictates the tune...So goes a certain rumored allegation that comes as a threat to HarrySong if he goes further with the concert...It means, his finances and all that is paradise might be cut....

As you know, this particular label is owned by Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money who happens to be the younger brother to Kingsley Okonkwo which we all know as Kcee...There are reports that Kcee who is also the Vice President made this threat to Our Gala Ambassador...As usual, there will always be denials here and there but It is a matter of time before we hear that a certain popular act at the music label is on his own or perhaps another label due to some circumstances beyond a control.

35 year old Harryson Tare Okiri has been able to establish himself in most genres especially the highlife and his vocal dexterity is quite commendable and with eight years into his musical career, he has carved a niche for his brand that most youths have come to respect but will ''the Gala'' continue to be shared at the Five Star mansion..? .Only time will tell as a certain trend now is the rush and drive to operate alone as an artiste and a label boss...

This image of Sola Sobowale, a Nollywood Actress who is still a force to reckon with when it comes to delivering some crazy mama scenes or a nagging mother-in-law recreated this image of her and I find it very stunning. This ''Asewo to re Mecca'' star still looks beautiful at her age.

She joined acting with the Awada Kerikeri group under the leadership veteran actor, Adebayo Salami and perhaps the stubborn-act scenes come easy because she is a native of Ondo State...You know what they say about people from that side...(smiles)

Are you going to wait till you encounter Olajumoke Orisaguna on a first class seat en route to Milan for a fashion Show or Are you going to wait till she gets honored by a prestigious University in Nigeria before you realize time has passed you by....? I know it might sound cliche putting up a write up about this young lady having read and seen the various benefits thrown at her but let it be known to you that Olajumoke is certainly working hard behind ''close doors'' and when she is done, you might have to pay through your nose to hear her talk or something...Ridiculous I guess...

What exactly am I driving at...? I watched a dance show this morning and one of the young contestants actually described the situation of her family as she sleeps in the living room because the rooms are few compared to the numbers in the family and she has to walk with her mum to get a bus every morning when going to school...Another also described dance as a get-away...What is your get-away...?

Let us put aside the fact that Photographer, Ty Bello brought her to the spotlight because she is no more in control of her destiny as Jumoke is now managed by a professional Modelling Agency and her current residence is also temporary...For those of you who think she has gold all planted right in her house...please think again because she has to work very hard to make that assumption true before the public...Do you even think It will be easy for her...? Yes, She ain't selling bread again...Yes, several brands have romanced her and Yes, her life has changed but If she really wants to be another Alek, Oluchi or Naomi...She must work hard to remain there....

I ask myself...What exactly should I be doing to elevate my passion...Unfortunately, we are in a society where your journey might have been programmed from school to marriage...I wonder where we missed the part of self...What does my child wants but thanks to a level of civilization, some people have stayed true to their dreams and have been able to develop others...Do not remain where you are..Do what you have to do now...The person whom you beef might actually be your gateway to success which I do not define by money.

A colleague once told me she feels not complete by not exploring other things about life..She is blessed with children, a job and all that but she still feels there is more to life...and that is absolutely true. I know the country is very hard for a lot of us and so, It is difficult to live a dream but what about where you are...For example, Do you know that Chidinma can fix you in her next music video by what you upload on YouTube..It will be difficult having a live audition with her but both of you can connect with the help of the social media.

I am on the edge...waiting to see the tremendous transformation in Olajumoke because every time I see an image of her, I get inspired to push further..a little further and I will be amazed at how much effort is going into every passion am connected with. Start now...dust yourself....pack your luggage and go!

It is a beautiful thing when our dreams start actualizing at a very young age. It is more amazing when those dreams are well nurtured and you become successful with that dream. Los Angeles based fashion stylist and creative director, Wale Oyerinde is a man who has followed a childhood passion to reality and is currently a force to reckon with in the business of styling, especially in areas of advertising, campaigns and occasional editorials. Wale grew up like an average child but always had eyes for colors and fingers for texture...and that hand of texture led him to sketch a few designs for his sister at the age of 16. This passion geared him further to take photographs of his sister wearing the designs, wrote a press release about it and sent to Vanguard Newspaper for publication in their Sunday Allure Edition. It did not end there...He became a style writer for Vanguard's Allure Newspaper for three years.

Wale Oyerinde did not relax on his natural interest in fashion. He holds a bachelor's degree in fashion business management from the University of South Africa and Visual Merchandising from the London College of Fashion. However, narrowing down his options to find his niche wasn't an easy process..He had to undergo many internships to get the best of training and what it takes to be thick...eventually, after evaluating his personal goals and interest in art and design plus his background in visual merchandising and fashion business, he chose fashion styling which is somehow a combination of all these mentioned.

He describes himself as a sponge and likes to absorb everything and so, he finds inspiration everywhere around him. Wale says he takes a lot of random photographs on his phone and some people find it surprising how a random photograph of a blue sky can turn into a full 8 page fashion editorial. New York is one of his favorite inspirational spots and he makes it an habit not to wear head phones on the subway as he feels it blocks him out of his immediate environment which is his primary source of inspiration. He describes the Hollywood industry as a huge market, cut-throat competition and everyone is good at their craft. He says ''You will need your skin to be tougher than the leather of a Prada bag''. In addition, persistence and a die-hard attitude is the key to survival.

Wale has been surviving the tough skinned Hollywood industry and he also appreciates the business in his home country but wants a better structure for the fashion industry. He adds that anyone going into his kind of career must have a point of view, be a able to dream and bring such a dream to reality. His definition of relaxation obviously seems like working as he enjoys taking photographs, playing around with Photoshop, illustrating and recently, iphoneography; which is a style of creating photos with an iPhone(a style of mobile photography). He also loves to exercise and play basketball.

International Fashion Label, Ade Bakare Couture added glam and brilliance with over 15 styles to the creative effort of Film Producer and Director, Blessing Egbe on her latest work, One Room which premiered yesterday in Lagos. Blessing Egbe is the brain behind the highly watched drama series, Lekki Wives and many fantastic movies...Do you also know that Blessing Egbe has actually walked the runway for the fashion brand and It is a great delight to have that same fashion label clothing a major role in her film. It was a night of glitz and glamour.

Blessing Egbe added style and class to the business of couture by wearing an emerald green and ivory beaded dress made by the award winning designer of an International repute.

Here is Star Actress, Rita Dominic dressed in Ade Bakare while on the set of One Room.

I recently watched a romantic drama film, High Strung and I felt how romance is driven by passion and will to live for known for that thing and show the world that you are not empty. I also recall a friend giving a candid opinion about how to brand this blog with better images, that which I am yet to achieve. There are various people in this world and each and everyone of us is blessed with a gift...yea, you have heard that sermon over and over again but I am not talking about you having a gift but what you live for...why are you still existing on this earth...? It is a serious business. In the past weeks, several notable people have passed on; from Mohammed Ali, Stephen Keshi, Amodu Shuaibu, Henrietta Kosoko and OJB Jezreel...I know it burdens our heart losing these referring to their close families and friends because the rest of the world will only tweet and tag along with the mourning which should simply last for 24 hours.

To those of us still breathing, what is the essence of our very existence...? I know a friend Shola who is good at his job...he works really hard and willing to train others to be better at what they do...I know a friend Valerie...She is a true definition of a hustler because she is married with children but still creates time to give back to society by training young ladies to be independent. I know a friend Dare...He is always there to help anyone having issues with their devices or gadgets at the office and even strangers known by his own friends and colleagues plus he is super talented as a graphic designer. I know a comedienne Helen Paul...She has grown to be a force to be reckoned with in the business of comedy but also creates time to bring up others.

I ask myself...What do I live for...? It is not about being the best staff at work, It is not about having the most liked image on Instagram and neither is it about being famous for your work...Am sure you have heard a lot of times that little things count and matter. I want to live to inspire the next person...I want to live for helping others get up and I want to live for being grateful that there are people who you can count on...There are people who are retiring from their jobs and have never for once thought about giving back or help someone talented develop their dreams...There are people who are in the position to help but they never will...Life is just too short...It goes as fast as a speed of light and before you know it, time has pass you by and no impact and all goes with you to the grave...I ask again, What do you live for...?

Every person that has died in these past week had something they lived for and they will always be remembered for that thing...It might not be a global phenomenon to remember those things but their close relatives, children and friends will forever continue to praise those those things they lived for.
I recall in that same romantic drama...''what happens when you reach perfection''...? Let us breath and live for a what you can do for the life of others with what you have today...some of us are engrossed with the quest of ourselves..That is not living honestly...more like existing...there are several times a few commercial motorcyclists around my work place give me a lift whether I have their accurate fair or not...they will always say...''I will collect anytime''...They take their live simple despite the economic situation around them...How much more you...the career driven highly priced being who thinks of himself alone...What do you live for...?

I am not doing a sermon on the mount or the net...This is how I feel lately...I was a bit down at the office yesterday which was known to a few but then..someone will always put a smile on your face at the end of the day...All am saying is Love thy Neighbor as thyself....your neighbor is not the one close to your house...they are every where on the surface of the earth and you encounter them more than once If you take note...

It always gets to that point in ones life to strive and take a career to another level irrespective of any challenges locking around the corner. It is one of the best things happening in the life of award winning television star and film actress, Kiki Omeili right now. She recently celebrated her birthday and instead of wasting away lounging...turning the lights on in the city of Lagos, She decide to launch a short film...Interestingly, this is a debut into producing and I find it cool and brilliant starting with a short film unlike so many actors and actresses jumping into the producing wagon without understanding what it takes to produce or be a producer in this present day business of film making....I mean they lack proper training in essence.

Kiki's quest into producing emanated after she attended a film clinic in February this year hosted by Film Maker, Stanlee Ohikhuare who also happened to be the director of this short film titled ''Unprotected''. The experience at the clinic drived her motivation into bringing to life an idea which she had while in Medical school...Yes, Kiki is graduate of Medicine and a qualified one at that.
In a recent chat with her, she expressed her constant desire to be the best at everything she does and this is no exception...This is the reason why she went all out to get the best of talents to work with to best tell her story in ''Unprotected''. She had worked before with every actor used on this project; Nathan Kingsley, Bimbo Ademoye, Blessing Ambrose and Eric Didie was her choice as the lead male because he is fantastic and dedicated..This is a good step in the right direction of Kiki because she knew what each character should look like and it all came to life with the creative and technical support of Stanlee Ohikhuare

Everyone is familiar with some major challenges of Film Making in Nigeria which includes power and funds but thankfully she was able to overcome because she had the right people by her side on this project but I had to ask her If this was an award winning project...? Is there really anyone who will not love to be awarded for a job well done...For Kiki, grabbing an award will be a cherry on top of the cake with God by her side but she was quick to add that the objective of this film is to pass across a message and get people thinking. Infact, the director called it ''A Conscience Film''.

You might be pondering...Can she compete in the bigger film market as a Producer? Well, This Doctor turned Actress is confident and ready as she believes It's all about telling a good story well. So, If you are yet to watch ''Unprotected'', do not waste a second in giving it a try, you will be thrilled at what this talented actress has created..I have seen it myself..It is a short film but will have a longer impact in your life.

Wisdom should naturally grow as one ages in life...and we also pray for a bigger and better life. Nollywood charmer, Temitope Tedela is one actor that has continually been a force to reckon with because he knows and understands the craft. In a recent chat as he celebrates his birthday, He is most grateful for life, family, friends...because there are people who stand by us in all we do and their words of encouragement goes a long way to making that much needed impact. He is also grateful for his career so far, happiness and peace of mind.

On what plans he has relating to taking his career to the next level, He truly states, ''You never know what the future holds, You can only plan''...those are actually words of wisdom...He wants to be a kinder human being, a better actor, work in great projects and remain happy.

In this present state of the nation, He wants everyone to do more. We should be more helpful, more empathetic to the travails of our fellow citizens...above all, It is left for each man to choose his way but certainly, a right way...

This is the more reason we have to celebrate this gentleman who is a blessing to Nollywood. Happy fabulous birthday wishes Tope Tedela...

Feuds are common among every human and it makes more attention when they are prominent people...sometimes, I get pissed at colleagues who are having drama around me and Nigerian celebrities are not left out...As you know, there are always angles to it; It could be a publicity stunt just to be in the news for a very long time, which eventually pushes the corporate world to identify with such a person or It could truly be an issue but based on their personalities, the world simply had to hear about it. Omo Baba Olowo, Davido and one time Nigerian Presidential Aspirant, Otunba Dele Momodu are currently enjoying the least, I am also writing about them.

My twist about this isn't to jab about their ''clean'' linen on the social media space but to critically look into who handles the wheels...Davido is super rich and his music is still making waves across the African continent that I know about...Uncle Momodu on the other hand is a Veteran Journalist who is quite established enough to have had the grace to run for the number one position in his country...that is a great success for such a man but why is there a power feud between these two...seems there is more to it than just a sweet little baby girl.

Is it about fame, power, wealth or what....? I know my Nigerian friends would also wield in the age factor but interestingly, this is not a question of age now because some factors have equaled these two whether you like it or not...In essence, Davido is absolutely on the wheels because he is the father of the child and he has the power and wealth to be that father...I do not know why Uncle Momodu had to grant a television interview in Ghana but he needs to keep calm, stay calm and play honorably to avoid more ridicule via do not have to say anything because Uncle Davido will always come back and apologize for everything he has done...remember, this is Africa and you are Chief Dele Momodu...and yes, you are certainly not his boy.

Is Africa a country...? This is very poetic but I do not blame the foreign media that keeps referring to Africa as a country. It is a recurrent news on television and what has the continent or ''country'' like they call it done to salvage this situation. It is dumb I guess for anyone to think that way....Is it an issue of civilization, corruption, insecurities, low self esteem and poverty or what...? I cannot place my finger on it...Why exactly do we have that repeated error of referring an entire continent of 57 countries as a''country''...Is it a question of population which I honestly doubt? I feel we are just a victim of our circumstance.

I have more of rhetorical questions here for all African leaders and every black citizen of this ''country''. Are you proud of being a black man on the African soil? Are you proud of your color? Do you believe in this continent? It is time to rise above every challenge confronting us as a continent and represent ourselves well everywhere we go...We need to call on Africans outside the continent to always represent the continent well and not negatively; From fashion, music, movies, corporate, health and so on...We need to fight back with our mindset and not with weapons or insecurities thriving among neighboring states.

Recently, a top foreign television outfit was blasted by twitter users for referring to Africa as a country and am thinking...Is Africa a country...? Some people feel its an ignorant move and I doubt that..the media has apologized but they actually know what they are doing but we are the ones that would correct the motivation behind it.

According to out studies in school, Africa is one of the continents in the world and though, Australia is seen as one and a country, perhaps because It is the smallest continent, I do not see why we should be referred to as a country... Now, do I feel bad...? No. I do not feel bad...but let us know how to react to such...For the records, I am from Africa but the Nigerian Tribe...

I love being an African because there are so many things that makes us unique before the world...As you know, some international media organizations refer to Africa as a country...So in that line, follow me on a trip to the ''State of Uganda'' where a lawmaker, Rebecca Kadaga was spotted visiting a shrine in her rural home to say a big thank you to her ancestors after re-election as speaker of the assembly in Uganda...While some have found it hilarious, others have criticized her...Infact, life threatening aside the fact that some men are calling for her sack due to her act of ungodliness.

I find it interesting because If Nigerian Politicians are to come out openly as paying visit and homage to a shrine for the purpose of victory in an election...all hell will let lose on the social will be rolling over data and everyone will be having a cool day over such a politician, Ironically, there are some politicians who prepare for elections via traditional means...I am not here to take sides or judge this woman but If that is her own way of respecting her tradition and ancestral spirits, we should let her be and not define it as ungodly, except if it's involving a loss of life as a sacrifice or any other criminal related involvement.

Her appreciation to the gods is simply out of her victory...she was elected again because of the wonderful job she did during her first five-year term in office, that earned her the respect and value to be a speaker in the house, even though her party wanted to replace her with a man as with the tradition, where men have always been the speakers. It was not an easy battle for Madam Kadaga but due to the overwhelming majority in the house, whoever is endorsed becomes the speaker.

After victory to be the speaker for the next five years, she headed to her ancestral lands of Busoga to pay homage to her ancestors' spirits...She was seen by the cameras walking through stones up a hill to visit the gods in a cave...and I believe the gods will also be like special advisers to her during her tenure; to give quality ideas for the development of Uganda and Its people. This is proudly African..culture is a great tool of communication and it is not redefining religion but rather, emphasizing that Africa is unique by all standards.

We are in terms with the word break up and we are also elated about the word wedding but some shiver about the word marriage...Now, these three terms are everyday reality depending on where it hurts or sweetens the most...I do not really care whether you are a celebrity or not but when it comes to marriage, you must be ready even can be ready for a wedding in the next five minutes after reading this piece...It's simply about putting some logistics together and the human element present to exchange vows...but break up is the in-thing now.

Break ups are more prominent now than marriages, perhaps, It should be celebrated just like weddings...Anyway, Fast rising model, Gigi Hadid recently broke up with Zayn Malik after seven months...Interestingly, she is 21 years old and that means, Except If she decides to get back her singer boyfriend, It is very possible she will have lots of breakups if she is a girl power driven being...This came after my darling Taylor Swift called it quit with Calvin Harris after fifteen months...The fans and the show biz world did not see that coming...apparently, Taylor wanted a future with Calvin...a marriage and babies...So he ran for his life or what? Questions of insecurities...
I have to ask...can these break ups be more of a commercial venture than an emotional quest to be free...What exactly brings two people together...? Yes, there are some that seem business like an then it tilts towards a romantic affection but then, do you talk it out..well, I know It's about the fame for some celebrities. The more breakups you can have, the better you thrive on the scene as a most wanted. Prior to all these, we had experienced the ''Tiwa Savage marriage drama'' that took most of our time as fans went all out to become a counselor or advocate for an ideal marriage...She did not turn hers to music by singing about it...she simply dished us like a breakfast in sunshine London...Calvin and Taylor were apparently not on the same page about their future while Gigi and Zayn are simply not strong enough to be committed now..I can imagine the life of a supermodel and a music youngster who is considering a serious relationship. You must be ready to compromise standards for the sake of that relationship.
I do know marriage break up is far more deeper to judge than a mere relationship but It's seems more of a freedom, a quest to be an independent woman and not subjected to a man...It's more about the present day society and the power to be successful especially, when the resources are in place...I will respect the decisions of Taylor Swift by ending the relationship...It may be hard but that is the best thing to do...If you cannot see a future clearly with someone, you simply pack your bags and move on..more so, there was a discussion about it.

I believe our ladies should not live a life based on what society says, If you want the girl power life, do not waste your time in a relationship just because you want the attention of being loved...I am not a relationship expert but I do feel some women hide under a relationship and still scream for freedom, and blame the man for not giving them a purpose...

Recently, The Lagos Wing of the Nigerian Union of Teachers says 16,000 teachers are needed to adequately cater for government-owned primary and secondary schools in the state. It further stated that lack of teachers is now becoming a major issue within the system as thousands of teachers have retired from June 2015 to date....Well, basically, they have to retire if their years of service is up and is the system even cool enough for new comers to chill and be proud of being called a teacher?

Is our educational system getting better or worse...? Is it really about more teachers...? Is an average teen even still interested in this thing called education, defined by a classroom wall...?  There are several questions to be asked and my article is not the first relating to the subject of education in Nigeria and certainly, will not be the last. It's tiring to be discussing about this matter in the 21st century where nations are feeding on the brilliant output from their educational system. Nigerian on the other hand is dishing out its product to other people for use...and now, they require more teachers for a system that needs to be dusted, cleaned up and reestablished.

There are concerns about the teacher student ratio but I believe employing more teachers isn't the first point of call to this menace because not all teachers are even employable...what we have today are not teachers, rather, workers who simply want to meet their needs via a vacuum that is a monthly pay...I know who a teacher is when my mum was working with the Teaching service commission in Lagos, I was proud to have her as a parent who was a teacher...She understands the job because she knows about the guidance, tutoring and counselling involved to be a teacher...the days of Lesson notes and all that...It was super but I doubt if employing more teachers will help.

Yes, there are passionate youths out there who can impact into other people but not on a platform of dealing with children...It is easy to gather people in a room and motivate them but It is not easy to teach little ones who are just starting life...a teacher has a more greater work to do in supporting the morale of the parents in adding value to their child because the child spends most of the day at school...and It is important to employ more from those who go through education itself as a course of study, they must have gone through teaching practice and all that but above all, I am not in support of employing but clean up the system because the true development of a nation solely depends on its educational system...

Being a star is not just about your craft alone but also about how you convey the brand to the entire world. Kukere Master, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk is a recording and performing artiste in a class of his own. Since winning MTN Project Fame in 2008, he has continued to stay in the spotlight amidst some controversies here and there but today, he is still standing strong and ''tall'' in the business of music. These pictures are beyond music...It was created to fuse music and business together and the result is a definition of a smart and business mind. When next you see Mr. Iyanya..give him a direct warm handshake, for these images are far better than what some chief executives sell to us as branding.
